The Auxiliary: Taking Service to a Higher Level

From the beginning, they’ve made the difference.

The members of The Auxiliary of the National Lutheran Home always have provided something extra for those living here. As our major fund-raising group, they provide the energy and resources to make great things happen. If you want to volunteer on projects that have the most impact on our community, if you want to be an important part of something bigger, The Auxiliary may be the perfect answer.

The Auxiliary has been there for our residents from day one. In the beginning, the group ran all non-nursing aspects of the Home. Today more than 1,000 members continue that tradition of service. Auxiliary members are regular visitors to the community. They see things that are needed and then work to fulfill that need.

The Auxiliary primarily raises funds through the Spring and Fall Festival events, the Gift Shop and individual donations. Contributions have included transportation buses, renovation of the Game Room, the Green House addition and library book purchases. Some of their programming contributions include monthly birthday parties, the PAL program and exciting activities and special events.
