Volunteer Opportunities

Make a Difference in Someone’s Life at NLHV!

The Volunteer Program at NLHV offers adults and students, families and groups the opportunity to serve in and around the Home. Our Volunteer Program strives to recruit individuals who desire to serve seniors and provide an enriching and valuable experience. If you have a flexible schedule, there is a volunteer opportunity for you!

 Opportunities to serve include:

  • Assist residents with a bridge or bingo game
  • Assist with resident programs/activities
  • Serve as a friendly visitor to residents to read, chat, write letters, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining Home flowers and plants
  • Provide entertainment to residents
  • Office assistance
  • Assist with maintenance/facility projects
  • Provide sewing and mending services for residents
  • Escort residents to and from medical and hair appointments and worship services
  • Be a Senior Beacon who sends a resident cards and letters monthly, as well as during the holidays.
  • Make crafts for the residents
  • Serve as an Auxiliary Volunteer

Volunteers have the opportunity to make new friends, assist residents in a way that is rewarding and fulfilling, gain new skills, receive community service hours, and, most importantly, make a difference in someone’s life.
