About the Auxiliary
The Auxiliary of the National Lutheran Home is an organization that works to support and enrich the lives of Home’s residents. With the funds raised through memberships, Books of Honor and Memory and the Spring and Fall Festivals, the Auxiliary provides gifts of social and spiritual benefit for the residents.
The Auxiliary is a group of individuals who contribute their time and talent to a variety of programs and fundraising events. Through the years the Auxiliary continues to fulfill its stated purpose by providing material comfort and programs of direct service to the 300 Home residents.
Spring and Fall Festivals – crafts, jewelry, greenhouse, Grandma’s Attic, stamps, books and baked goods draw hundreds of visitors annually.
Pal Program – one-on-one monthly resident visitation program
Birthday Parties – celebrations for residents with a special cake and a gift.
Christmas Party – holiday party with a gift for each resident
Gift Shop – shopping opportunities for residents and visitors
Bingo – monthly games with prizes
Stamp Program – resident activity and fundraiser
Trips and Entertainment – restaurants and event trips for residents and in-house entertainment and special activities.
