Rehab Care

Where renewed abilities and confidence begin!

The NLHV rehabilitation program is designed to help guests recover quickly and return to active living in the home environment.

Experience Matters
For 119 years we have specialized in the care of people 60 years and older, working to help them maintain quality of life and their functional abilities. Our seven therapists provide services five days per week.

Seniors’ Unique Challenges
Older adults recovering from hip, knee, or shoulder surgery, fracture or stroke may have additional recovery obstacles if another physical condition or memory loss are present. This is why every therapy plan is customized, because each resident has individual goals and potential.

Physical Therapy
This program targets recovery, pain relief, and improved body movement, balance and function. Physical therapy incorporates treatments that promote optimal health and ability, maintain cardiopulmonary well-being, and limit disabilities resulting from injury or the aging process.

Occupational Therapy
These strategies focus on skills for the job of daily living - preparing meals, making a bed, doing laundry and grocery shopping. Residents work toward greater independence and functional ability in self-care (bathing, dressing and undressing, eating, transferring from bed to chair, using the toilet and walking).

Speech-Language Pathology
Following a stroke or other illness, verbal communication, word usage and the ability to safely swallow food or drink can be affected. Our speech language programs work to improve abilities in collaboration with other types of therapies and dietary plans.
